List of Supported Teltonika Devices

Currently, the following Teltonika RUT and RUTX routers are supported:

Firmware Image Download

You can find the firmware images for RUT/RUTX routers at the Unwired Public Downloads. Make sure to get the latest one for your device.

Firmware file syntax

Please use images ending with -factory.ubi to avoid upgrade rejection issues. The filename has the following syntax.

unwired-21.02-NNN-ipq40xx-generic-teltonika_rutx12-squashfs-nand-factory.ubi

  • unwired, indicating it’s an Unwired Edge Cloud OS build

  • 21.02, the major revision number

  • NNN (for example, 118), the minor revision number (pick the highest one!)

  • Device architecture

    • ipq40xx-generic for RUTX routers

    • ramips-mt76x8 for RUT routers

  • Device model type, e.g. teltonika_rutx12

  • The rest of the string contains package type and info

Important

  • RUT950 and RUT955 share image: *teltonika_rut950_rut955-squashfs-factory.bin

    • Revision H7V3C0 requires the h7v3c0 image: *teltonika_rut950_rut955-h7v3c0-squashfs-factory.bin

  • RUT951 and RUT956 share image: *teltonika_rut951_rut956-squashfs-factory.bin

Technical Limitations

There are some devices that currently require attention due to technical limitations.

RUTX series

For all RUTX devices:

  • The lan1 interface in the Unwired Edge Cloud Console
represents all physical LAN ports on the device.

    • This will change in a future firmware release,
so all ports (lan2, lan3, lan4 if present) should be selected in the Unwired Edge Cloud Console.

  • Using the same VLAN ID on both LAN and Uplink interfaces is currently NOT possible;

Newer RUT devices

For newer RUT devices like RUT951 and RUT956, tagged VLANs cannot be set alongside untagged VLANs.

  • The internal switch is using two untagged VLANs for (1) uplink and (2) downlink

  • Therefore, the switch cannot be set to a VLAN without disabling all the ‘regular’ non-VLAN functions.

  • This is a limitation also documented at Teltonika.

Factory Reset

Please refer to the official documentation for factory resetting the devices.

You will need to follow the section named Bootloader menu. This ensures a full reset of the device, even if it is not accessible or bootable.

Hint

Hints on device reset On RUTX devices, the suggested time you need to hold the reset button during startup is too short. You actually need to hold it down for around 10 seconds.
